Call for Abstracts

With great pleasure, we invite abstracts for E - Poster and Oral Presentation to the First International Conference on Early Intervention (EIIC) held in Chennai, India from February 14 & 15, 2020.

The Call for Abstracts will be open from September 30th 2019 to January 10th 2020.

Please read the EIIC guidelines carefully before submitting.

Abstract Guidelines (Both Oral and E-Poster)

Abstracts are invited in the following theme and subthemes

”Early Intervention - Maximizing the Potential of Special Needs Children towards inclusion”

Abstracts should focus primarily on early intervention (for children under the age of 6 years) but may also address sub-themes relevant to school-aged children.

Title: Use a maximum of 20 words

Author(s) Details:

  • Primary contact/author full name
  • Affiliation: includes Department, institution / hospital, city, state (if relevant), country
  • email address, telephone number
  • List of authors: maximum 7 persons can be added.


  • Please note that the first author is authorized to present the oral and will be considered the recipient of any conference prizes awarded.
  • The primary contact/author responsibility is to contact with list of other authors

Additional Information (optional): Additional information can be included with the submission. For example:

  • Ethical approval details (registration under, registration No)
  • Clinical Trial Registry registration Number and database
  • Acknowledgements.
  • Disclosures.
  • Funding sources.

Using the following structured abstract format, with no more than 400 words you must submit your abstracts in a separate word file. Abstracts that do not comply with the submission guidelines (e.g. incorrect font, incorrect formatting, and more than 400 words) will not be reviewed by the selection committee.

Acceptable format:

  • MS Word format
  • Font size: 12 point
  • Font type: Times New Roman
  • Word count: 400-word maximum includes title, content and references.

The abstract format should include the following components:

  • Introduction/Rationale
  • Objective: State the main study questions and identify any hypotheses being tested.
  • Design/Method: State the study type, e.g. Randomized controlled trial, Systematic review, Cost-benefit analysis, or Retrospective cohort study.
  • Describe the participants (report age as mean (SD) in years and months; sex as ‘n=’ (not %); relevant classification/s; recruitment method), instrumentation and measures (use SI units, except for blood pressure use mmHg, convert imperial units to metric), procedure and statistical analyses used.
  • Results: Identify the main study outcomes including results of any statistical tests (show standard deviations as (SD), not ±; do not use percentages for sample sizes below 50; abbreviate probability with a lower case italicized p). Please note that it is not sufficient just to state that ‘results will be presented’.
  • Conclusion: State conclusions as clinical implications and future research directions.
  • References: If necessary, a maximum of 3 references will be accepted, but will be included in your word count.


  • Figures and Tables: Are not allowed in the abstract.

Additional information for abstract submission:

  • Abstracts must be submitted only via EIIC 2020 Conference website system.
  • The Conference language is ENGLISH. All abstracts should be submitted and presented in clear English.
  • No changes can be made to abstracts once they are submitted. Abstracts that pertain to general child health/paediatric topics without a specific child development/disability focus will be rejected.
  • Abstracts which present with the same findings drawn from the same study but submitted by another author will be rejected.
  • Faxed or emailed abstracts will not be considered.
  • If your abstract is selected for paper/ poster presentation, You will be notified on or before January 15, 2020, 5 PM IST.
  • Presenters are responsible for their own travel and accommodation.
  • If a travel visa is required, it is the responsibility of the presenter(s) to obtain such documentation. Upon receiving notification of acceptance, the primary author/contact will have 14 days to notify the Conference Office of their acceptance/decline to participate/present at the conference. If notification of acceptance/decline is not received by the deadline, the presentation will be withdrawn from the program at the discretion of the committee.

E-Poster Guidelines

  • Video and animations cannot be included in the file.
  • File should be ppt/pptx format.
  • Poster should be in landscape orientation. (Not in Portrait)
  • Slide should be in 16:9 Aspect ratio
  • Page size: 10in (width) x 5.625in (height). Aspect ratio: (16:9)
  • Contents should not be over crowded.
  • Symbols, diagrams and other images included should be clear enough to view on large screen.
  • Recommended Font: Font size should not be less than 9pt, Font type: Calibri (Body), Cambria, Arial (Bold), Adobe Garamond Pro.
  • Background should be light (Recommended: White) if dark text is being used.
  • The maximum file size is 10MB.

By submitting an abstract you are agreeing/confirming the following terms and conditions:

  • This abstract has NOT been printed in a previous journal supplement for a conference.
  • The research has not been published in a journal at the time of abstract submission
  • This abstract has been reviewed by the primary author and/or research team
  • The abstract will be published in the conference proceedings on the website or in any form.
  • All photographs of patients must have the appropriate consent prior to conference presentation/dissemination.

Conflict of Interest Statement: Indicate that you agree to provide a statement on any potential conflicts of interest at the commencement of the presentation and/or on any slides or posters.
